‘Aquaman’ Thursday Screenings Earn $13.7 Million

Yesterday, the overall sixth installment in the long-running DC Extended Universe, Aquaman, was shown at Thursday early screenings. Now, thanks to a new report by TheWrap, we have learned that the superhero picture managed to rake in $13.7 million at the early screening last night. These numbers are pretty impressive for this type of film, and it is worth noting that this was advanced.

The film itself is sure to make a ton of money in the overall worldwide box office now that it is officially released in theatres worldwide starting today. Critics and fans alike are already calling it one of the most fun superhero movies in quite some time, with the action sequences, in particular, being a big standout. Also, Aquaman was released today alongside other highly anticipated films such as Mary Poppins Returns and the Transformers spin-off movie Bumblebee, both of which are also receiving critical and commercial success. If these numbers do maintain, it looks like Aquaman will truly be the king of the box office.

Aquaman is now playing in theatres worldwide.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
