During the interview, Willem Dafoe and Jimmy Fallon talked about a number of things. This included his Golden Globe nomination for his role in the Vincent van Gogh biography film, At Eternity’s Gate and what went into making the film. He then gave us a bit of insight as to how the effects worked within Aquaman.
He revealed that a great deal of it was shot with greenscreens and was constantly kept on wires to help give the audience the idea that he and the other actors were under water. He also revealed that his shark was a giant green cube on wires. In it, he talked about, (or possibly joked about), how he got into the idea of making the shark real in his head. This included naming the CGI creature after his mother, Muriel. You can see the full video below in all of its details on acting:
