Justice League Mortal Images Reveal New Look At Armie Hammer’s Unused Batman Costume Design

New concept art from George Miller’s canceled Justice League Mortal film reveals a brand new look at a design for Armie Hammer’s unused Batman costume.

Way back in 2007 — long before the DCEU came to be — Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller was set to helm his own Justice League film titled Justice League Mortal. The project itself made it all the way through pre-production before it was ultimately scrapped by Warner Bros. just before production began in 2007. Armie Hammer himself was set to star as Batman in the film.

Although Armie Hammer did not get his chance to play Batman on the big screen yet, the actor is one of the top picks amongst fans to replace Ben Affleck who exited the role of the Caped Crusader recently. Plot details have yet to be revealed, however, Matt Reeves’ project will feature a younger Batman donning the cape and cowl.

In addition to Armie Hammer, the studio had assembled a cast that included Grammy and Academy Award winner Common as John Stewart aka Green Lantern, Santiago Cabrera (Heroes) as Aquaman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord, Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul, with The Flash played by Adam Brody who is best known for his role on The O.C., FOX’s teen drama that ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.

So what do you think of this unused Batsuit design for Armie Hammer’s Batman from Justice League Mortal? Do you hope Armie Hammer will get his chance to play Batman next? Let us know in the comments below!

The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Supergirl, and New Gods. Meanwhile, production on DC’s Birds of Prey spin-off titled Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) starring Margot Robbie is currently underway in Los Angeles, CA.

The DCEU continues forward with Aquaman which is now playing and will be followed by Shazam! on April 5, 2019, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

The Batman is currently slated to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the DC cinematic universe as we learn it.
