Armie Hammer Slams Marvel Chairman For Supporting Donald Trump, But What About His Mother?

Armie Hammer slammed Marvel Entertainment Chairman Isaac Perlmutter for his large financial contributions to President Donald Trump earlier this week. But now the Call me by your Name actor is under fire for his recent scrutiny over the fact that his own Mother supports the United States president.

On Friday, Armie Hammer took to Twitter to criticize Perlmutter over his support for Donald Trump in the midst of a major backlash against Equinox owner Stephen Ross, who is hosting a fundraiser for the president in the Hamptons this week. Perlmutter, who sold Marvel to Disney for $4 billion back in 2009, is a long-time friend of Donald Trump and donated at least $100,000 in support of Donald Trump fundraising during his presidential campaign. Recent finance reports also reveal Perlmutter has donated the $2,800 to Trump’s re-election campaign this year.

But now it seems the tables have turned against Armie Hammer. After the actor voiced his issue with the reclusive former CEO of Marvel Entertainment and his connection’s to Donald Trump, writer Evan Ross Katz took to Twitter to call out Armie Hammer who’s Mother Dru Ann Mobley supports the president. Despite his public disapproval for Donald Trump, Armie Hammer can be seen liking posts from his mother that shows her support for the president, as well as posing with his mother in posts in which she expresses her support for the current commander-in-chief.

Perlmutter’s relationship with Donald Trump includes serving a member of the United States president’s Inauguration committee and reportedly being named one of three individuals authorized to direct policy at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The former CEO has a personal interest in veterans issues. Perlmutter himself is said to be a former Israeli soldier.

Perlmutter no longer has any say in Marvel’s efforts. After selling the company to Disney, Perlmutter remained the CEO of Marvel Entertainment and continued to oversee the development of Marvel projects until 2015. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige reportedly grew frustrated with Perlmutter, who was allegedly the main reason behind the studios’ lack of diversity. The studio’s restructuring resulted in Feige reporting directly to Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn.

So what do you think? Was Armie Hammer wrong to call out the Marvel Entertainment Chairman for his connection’s to Donald Trump despite his Mother’s support of the president? Do you stand with Armie Hammer’s position on Donald Trump? Let us know in the comments below!
