Initially serving as a soft reboot of the franchise with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clark assuming the role of Sarah Connor, Terminator Genisys was critically panned and plans for follow-up films were scrapped. Now, Arnold Schwarzenegger has stated that Genisys will be discounted from the series’ continuity:
“It’s going to ignore Genisys.”
Terminator 6 will be helmed by Deadpool director Tim Miller with a script by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), Charles Eglee (Dark Angel) and Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles).
Plot details are currently under wraps, though James Cameron has teased that the sixth film will center on a new young woman and confirmed that Linda Hamilton will reprise her iconic role as Sarah Connor opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
