‘Arrow’ Finally Gives An Iconic DC Villain His Official Name

The latest episode of Arrow name-dropped an iconic DC Comics villain, though the character has been around since season two.

In 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Callan Mulvey played Anatoly Knyazev, a.k.a. KGBeast. Some fans were disappointed that, ultimately, the character never really lived up to his comic book counterpart and the name KGBeast was never even uttered. If you’ve been waiting to see KGBeast in live-action, then you may want to check out the latest episode of Arrow because it’s the closest fans have gotten to officially seeing KGBeast in the flesh.

David Nykl has played Anatoly Knyazev since season two of Arrow but he has never been referred to by his name DC Comics villain name KGBeast. That was until the latest episode of Arrow, titled “Due Process”. In the episode, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) convinces Knyazev to help out the good guys by getting some information regarding the location of Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo).

When Knyazev first attempted to meet up with his former associate to get the information, he wasn’t allowed into the building. Things changed when he told the doorman to inform his boss that the KGBeast had arrived. It was then that Knyazev was allowed into the building. Hopefully, fans will get to see more of the character as KGBeast in the future, but that’s as far as the reference went in this latest episode.
