‘Arrow’ Boss Teases Emily Bett Rickards’ Final Scene As Felicity

The final episode of Arrow season seven will be saying goodbye to one of the core members of Team Arrow Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

This past March Emily Bett Rickards told the world that she would be leaving Arrow after season seven and saying goodbye to Felicity Smoak, a character that she has played for over six years. It came as a shock to many fans since Arrow had been renewed for an eighth and final season.

Although Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) fate isn’t known yet, Arrow producer Beth Schwartz has told TV Guide that the season seven finale is going to be a real sentimental one.

“I can’t give away too much, but every time I watch the last 10 minutes of the finale, I cry every single time.”

Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) served as the backbone and moral compass of the team. Schwartz also told TV Guide that the season finale would serve as a way to honor Felicity Smoak for her importance to the show and her personally.

“I just wanted to honor [Felicity]. She’s been a really important character to the show — besides just having a huge fan base — to me personally. She’s been one of my favorite characters, and I’ve been with her from the beginning. I wanted to make sure that we honored her both in her relationship with Oliver as well as her goals personally and the origin of Smoak Tech — her wanting to do something in addition to being on Team Arrow. That was her own, so that was really important to me.”

If you were in charge of the season seven finale of Arrow, how would you honor Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity Smoak? How do you think Felicity Smoak’s absence will impact Team Arrow moving forward? Sound off in the comments section below!
