‘Arrow’ Just Dropped Another Hint That John Diggle Will Become Green Lantern

The latest episode of Arrow may have offered another hint that John Diggle will become Green Lantern.

The CW’s Elseworlds crossover hinted that John Diggle’s Earth-90 counterpart is the John Stewart version of Green Lantern, prompting fans to speculate Diggle will become the Emerald Warrior at some point on the series. The arrival of John Diggle’s stepfather, General Stewart, in the most recent episode of Arrow fueled those theories because while both characters had been estranged for years, they reconciled after Diggle learned the General accepted the blame for a mission that went wrong so John’s biological father could die without having his reputation tarnished. As a result, fans are suspecting John Diggle will adopt his stepfather’s surname, which could bring the character one step closer to becoming the Green Lantern of comic book lore.

In the comics, John Stewart was a Marine sniper before he took on the Green Lantern mantle, but John Diggle previously had little else in common with the character aside from his first name and service in the military. Now that John Diggle could potentially take on the Stewart surname, do you think he could become Green Lantern? Let us know below!

The series stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Katie Cassidy, Echo Kellum, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, Colton Haynes, Kirk Acevedo, Sea Shimooka, and Katie Cassidy Rodgers.

Arrow continues next week with the episode titled “Confessions” and you can read the official synopsis below!

ARSENAL RETURNS TO HELP THE TEAM – When they learn of an upcoming attack on the city, Team Arrow calls Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) to help them stop the Ninth Circle. However, things go awry and there is massive collateral damage. As Captain of the SCPD, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) investigates what happened in an episode that takes on a true crime narrative and tone. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#720).

Arrow airs on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates from the Arrowverse.
