The recent trailer for the final five episodes of the fifth season teased appearances by several familiar faces including Deathstroke (Manu Bennett), Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law), Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), as well as Barrowman.
In a chat with TV Line, Mericle revealed that Merlyn will once again slip into the Arrow cave like he usually does while reminding everyone you can never be quite sure as to whose side he is on, other than his own of course:
“The last time Oliver and Malcolm saw each other, Malcolm helped them at the end of Season 4 — but he also went after Oliver’s son in the middle of Season 4. So always with Malcolm, you never know where you stand. You’re always a little bit off balance even if you think he’s on your side.”
Arrow season 5 continues tonight when the series returns from hiatus with “Dangerous Liaisons”:
