Thanks to a special celebrity edition of the competition series in honor of Red Nose Day, a fundraising campaign dedicated to ending child poverty, Amell is finally getting his chance to run the insane obstacle course and do it all while supporting a charitable cause.
Back in April, Amell announced on his Twitter that it was official: he’d be participating.
Promising some top-notch entertainment, Amell’s run on the show will air Thursday, May 25 at 8/7c on NBC. To tease the upcoming event and Amell’s run, American Ninja Warrior has released a sneak peek of the action, which you can view below.
As you can see in the video, it looks like Amell had a lot of fun while running the course. It also looks like his Arrow training had him in prime American Ninja Warrior shape as well, as it seems like he handled the first part of the course with little issue. However, you’ll have to tune in on May 25 to see how far Amell made it and how his course distance and time stacked up against the other celebrity participants such as Erika Christensen (Parenthood), Derek Hough (Dancing With the Stars), and Mena Suvari (voice of Killer Frost on Justice League Action).
Until then, you can catch Amell on Arrow, which is nearing the end of its fifth season.
“Missing” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)
