Here’s How The Season 7 Finale Of ‘Arrow’ Leads Into ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’

The season 7 finale of Stephen Amell’s Arrow set up the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

Last year’s, The CW’s Elseworlds crossover event concluded with Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen making a deal with the Monitor to spare the lives of Supergirl and The Flash, though the details on their arrangement were not divulged until last night’s season 7 finale of Arrow. In the final episode of Arrow season 7, the Monitor arrived at Oliver and Felicity’s safehouse to reveal the Emerald Archer agreed to join him on a mission to warn other worlds of the impending Crisis. However, the Monitor also revealed Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen will die in the upcoming Crisis, having told the Emerald Archer that his demise is “inexorable and unavoidable” when they first outlined the terms of their deal.

Later, a flash-forward showed Felicity and her children visiting Oliver’s gravestone, confirming his death will occur in the year 2019. Though Stephen Amell’s Oliver cannot escape his own fate, the Monitor assures Felicity that they can save countless others, including her children, if the Emerald Archer leaves with him. After a tearful goodbye to Felicity and baby Mia, Oliver Queen departs with the Monitor to fulfill his promise and help prepare other worlds for the Crisis to come.

Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.
