One of Team Arrow’s founding members has officially announced that she will not be returning to the CW series for it’s eighth and final season. Emily Bett Rickards otherwise known as Felicity Smoak among Arrow fans wrote on her Instagram that after seven seasons she and Felicity are saying goodbye to the show and her many fans.

Her Arrow co-star and love interest on the show Stephen Amell also known as Oliver Queen took to his twitter account to respond to Emily Bett Rickards announcement not with words but with the perfect image that summarizes his thought of Felicity in his mind.

Arrow was announced to come to an end after it’s 10 episode-eighth season by the Green Arrow himself some time ago. The sudden departure of Emily Bett Rickards is a shock to Arrow‘s many fans but no matter how it ends we’ll always have seven great seasons to look back on for Felicity and Oliver’s relationship.
The CW’s staple superhero series served as launch pad for much of the network’s current superhero lineup including Legends of Tomorrow and especially The Flash, which introduced Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster into the Arrowverse in Arrow‘s second season before the actor got his very own spin-off. Fast forward six years later and The CW is chock full of superhero shows including Supergirl, and Black Lightning, plus a Batwoman pilot which is currently in production.
