Before ‘Arrow’ Ends, Stephen Amell Promises Appearance of Iconic Goatee

He's been asked constantly, now fans have an answer. Stephen Amell promises that Green Arrow's iconic goatee will show up in 'Arrow' on The CW.

Superhero facial hair will never cease to make headlines, be it the iconic goatee of Green Arrow from the comic books or the studio-mandated mustache of Henry Cavill causing a stir around Justice League reshoots. However, one needs to make an appearance as far as fans are concerned and the other just makes for hilarious photoshop opportunities — sounds like the former could become a reality, albeit with no confirmed timetable.

Green Arrow’s goatee has always been brought up ever since the start of Arrow on The CW, met with various responses from the hero himself, Stephen Amell. It finally looks like fans have their answer though. The goatee will make an appearance — before the series wraps up.

ComicBook.com reports that Amell was asked about the goatee again recently during a Salt Lake Comic Con panel. That’s when the following promise was made:

“I promise you, before the series — not season, series — ends, we will have at least one shot with the iconic goatee,” he said.

That “not season, series” elaboration — very key. That would kind of lean speculation in the direction of NOT seeing the goatee by the end of Season 6. Unless Amell is just tempering expectations for an even bigger surprise this season.

What do you make of all this? Will the iconic goatee simply make a one-shot appearance in the final scene whenever the series ends? Or is Amell playing coy and fans could get this sooner than they think? Sound off in the comments below!

You can read the official synopsis for the Arrow season 6 premiere below:

“Fallout” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

THE AFTERMATH — Oliver (Stephen Amell) deals with the fallout of the explosion on the island. James Bamford directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle (#601).

Arrow season 6 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9/8c on The CW.
