Arrow served as launch pad for much of the network’s current superhero lineup including DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, which gave Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster his own series in the Arrowverse after he was introduced in the second season of Arrow. Thanks to the popularity and success of Arrow, much of The CW’s content now consists of superhero shows including Supergirl, and Black Lightning, and Batwoman series which is currently in development.
Earlier this year, Stephen Amell himself took to social media to announce that Arrow would be coming to an end this fall, after an abbreviated final run of 10 episodes. Naturally, fans are looking to the future for the actors of the series. Stephen Amell was asked by a fan MegaCon in Orlando over the weekend whether or not had considered taking on a Marvel role. Here’s what he had to say:
“I don’t know, man. I do know that I think there’s a negative connotation surrounding being typecast. What you want as an actor…is that the big thing you do as an actor is to get work in the first place. So how do you get typecast? You get typecast because you get work. And you do something to the point that there’s a distinction to it and that distinction makes people identify you with that type of character. I don’t know what I’m going to do. That’s one of the reasons that it’s time for me to move on is that I want to get my hat back in the ring. That’s a new character, that’s a Marvel character, that’s a DC character, whatever — we’ll see.”
So what do you think? What Marvel character would you like to see Stephen Amell play? Are there any roles outside of comic book adaptations you would like to see Stephen Amell take on? Let us know in the comments below.
