Page 1 - Thea Queen has been missing for quite a bit on Arrow and her absence has been noticeable. Thea reappeared in last week's episode, "The Spectre of...
According to Arrow’s executive producer, Wendy Mericle, Thea will be headed in a direction that may parallel her mother’s back in season two.
“She’s headed in a direction that’s very similar to where her mother was before she was killed in season 2. I’m actually really excited about her storyline, because we’re taking her to a place where she’s been dealing with all of these issues the same way Oliver has, with her bloodlust and with other elements of her past, and this season’s going to find her in a similar place, but for very different reasons. There’s gonna be a great scene coming up between Oliver and Thea that’s one of my favorites on the show.”
Thea has seemed ok this season, but in the hundredth episode, she was far more reluctant to leave the dream world the Dominators had whipped up. She was basking in the fact that she was able to see her mother, Moira, again.
The younger Queen’s bloodlust from season four has been kind of swept under the table. Perhaps it’ll come back around for her to deal with once more. She’s had her hands full working for the mayor’s office, largely doing damage control.
Mericle compared her path to her mother’s right before she died, so I hope this doesn’t mean that Thea will be killed off this season. That would be a very bad idea.
What do you think about this revelation regarding Thea? What kinds of issues will she be struggling with later in season five? Do you fear that Arrow might kill her off? Let us know in the comments!
Arrow airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
