In what has become an annual tradition, the heroes of the CW’s superhero drama’s will team up for a crossover event that will also introduce new characters to the network’s shared DC universe. Now, DC has announced the three-night event will be titled “Elseworlds,” the same name as publication imprint for a group of comic books by DC Comics that are set outside of the main DC Universe canon.

The upcoming Arrowverse crossover will find Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl visiting Gotham City after learning about the machinations of an Arkham Asylum doctor. The event will mark the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman and the first appearance of Gotham City in the CW superhero universe. Superman will also appear in the crossover with Tyler Hoechlin reprising the role from Supergirl and Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch will portray Lois Lane in the character’s Arrowverse debut.

The 2018 Arrowverse crossover event starts with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday, December 9 and continues with Arrow on Monday, December 10. The three-night event concludes with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11. All three entries will air at 8:00 p.m. ET on their respective nights.
