Production on the Supergirl portion of the upcoming Arrowverse crossover is currently underway and new set photos reveal Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin wearing jackets with a “Trigger Twins” label, indicating that at least one version of The Flash and Green Arrow will be the Elseworlds incarnation of the DC Comics characters. In the comics, the Trigger Twins were originally cowboy heroes in the Old West named Walt Trigger and Wayne Trigger. However, the name was later used by characters named Tad Trigger and Tom Trigger, who worked as criminals in Gotham City and became enemies of Batman.

The upcoming Elseworlds crossover will find Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl visiting Gotham City after learning about the machinations of a sinister Arkham Asylum doctor. The event will mark the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman and the first appearance of Gotham City in the Arrowverse. Superman will also appear in the crossover, with Tyler Hoechlin reprising the role from Supergirl, and Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch will portray Lois Lane in the character’s Arrowverse debut.
The 2018 Elseworlds crossover starts with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday, December 9 and continues with Arrow on Monday, December 10. The three-night event will then conclude with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11.
All three entries will air at 8:00 p.m. ET on their respective nights.
