After the success of the first Starz quickly put a second season of Ash vs Evil Dead into development. The series continues the adventures of Ash Williams played by Bruce Campbell as he battles deadites, demons and monsters all summoned by the franchise’s key plot device the Necromicon, now with the addition of Pablo and Kelly played by Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo respectively.
The first footage from the next season has been released by Starz in a new teaser trailer, opening with a homage to the now famous chainsaw scene from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2. The new trailer shows that season 2 will be even more violent, gory and funny than the first season.
“Ash vs Evil Dead” follows Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
Bruce Campbell, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago and Lucy Lawless are all returning for Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 this October on Starz.
