New ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Featurette Released: ‘The Creed Mythology’

Check out a new featurette for Assassin's Creed, which explores the differences between The Assassin Order and the Order of the Knights Templar.

With just a few more weeks until the film opens in theaters, 20th Century Fox has debuted a brand new featurette for Justin Kurzel’s Assassin’s Creed, featuring stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard talking about the centuries-spanning rivalry and the differences between The Assassin Order and the Order of the Knights Templar.

The video is packed with new never-before-seen footage from the upcoming video game adaptation, as well as some cool shots that were featured in the most recent trailer that was released last month. We also get our first official look at Brendan Gleeson, who plays Callum Lynch’s (Michael Fassbender) father. You can watch it below.

Here’s the official synopsis for the Assassin’s Creed movie:

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

The film stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Matias Varela and Denis Menochet.

Assassin’s Creed opens in theaters on December 21, 2016.
