News on Ava Duvernay and DC Films’ New Gods has been few and far between, leading people to believe that the film might not actually happen. Fans are really excited to see what Ava Duvernay does with the famous DC Comics characters and have been holding out hope for the film to be green-lit. Well, we got some good news for you fans that have been waiting for updates on the upcoming Ava Duvernay film, as The Wrap is reporting that New Gods officially has a co-writer. According to the trade, Batman and Mister Miracle comic writer Tom King has come aboard New Gods and will co-write the script with Ava Duvernay.
This should definitely excite DC fans and fans of Tom King with the writer having one of the best runs with Mister Miracle, winning multiple Eisner Awards for the comic book series. It was recently announced that Tom King would depart from his current run of Batman and finish it up in a new comic featuring Catwoman, so this announcement makes a lot of sense and I look forward to seeing what he delivers.
