For nearly the past decade, James Cameron and his team have been developing sequels to the blockbuster hit Avatar, though the titles of those projects have remained a secret. Now, new documentation regarding future Avatar plans may have revealed those title by referring to four projects listed as “The Way of Water,” “The Seed Bearer,” “The Tulkun Rider,” and “The Quest for Eywa.”
“The Way of the Water” certainly sounds like a plausible title for the first sequel considering James Cameron has stated that the film will explore the oceans of Pandora.
What do you think if these are actually titles of the sequels? Share your thoughts below!
The first film received mostly favorable reviews from critics and was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It became the first film to cross the $2 billion mark at the box office and currently retains the title of the highest-grossing movie of all-time.
Directed by James Cameron, the sequel star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, Cliff Curtis, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, and David Thewlis.
The first sequel is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18, 2020.
