‘Avengers 4’ Co-Writer Teases How The Heroes Could Defeat Thanos

During an interview for the book Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years, Avengers 4 co-writer Christopher Markus may have offered fans a hint at how our heroes could defeat Thanos.

After the Mad Titan acquired all six stones and used their power to eradicate half of the population in the universe, many fans believed that our heroes only stood a chance against the Mad Titan if at least one of those stones was removed from his gauntlet, thus diminishing his unparalleled power. Now, Christopher Markus’ comments may have stressed the importance of getting one of the stones away from Thanos:

“They’ve been misused by people who didn’t understand their true power. And now that the real master of them, Thanos, has shown up we can see what they actually do. The problem is, as you can imagine, as you gain control over these things, your story just goes haywire because why are there any stakes for the man who can control time, space, reality, your mind, your soul and power? He can reset as many times as it’ll take. So you have to build in a lot of bumps in the road or maybe keep one stone away from him for long enough in order for the thing to have any dramatic structure at all.”

Fans will wait to wait until the fourth film hits theaters to see if our heroes can defeat Thanos.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
