‘Avengers 4’ Co-Director Reveals Filming Will Begin In Two Weeks

While Avengers: Infinity War may have recently wrapped production, it appears there will not be much time before the creative team behind the film begins work on the fourth film featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. In an interview with ComicBook.com as San Diego Comic-Con, co-director Joe Russo discussed how the next two Avengers films will be totally different from each other and revealed that production on the fourth film will begin in two weeks.

Russo explained how Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth film will each offer something different for audiences:

“They’re all big. It’s important for both movies to be distinctly different. It’s important for them to have different tones, and different narratives, and different surprises for the audience. We’ve worked really hard with [writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley] at ensuring that the films are totally different and structurally different.”

Russo revealed when the fourth film will begin shooting while discussing the hectic schedule for both projects:

“It’s crazy man, we just wrapped the first movie a week ago and I start shooting the second one in two weeks. It’s a crazy schedule.”

Of course, before the fourth film arrives in theaters, fans will witness the first battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War next year.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro, Danai Gurira and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theaters on May 4, 2018.
