‘Avengers 4’ Runtime Currently Clocks In At 3 Hours

Marvel’s highly-anticipated Avengers 4, the follow-up to the record breaking Avengers: Infinity War is on track to be the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe film thus far. Following an Instagram Live Q&A, co-director Joe Russo revealed that the film will be significant in its runtime, and is currently sitting at the 3 hour mark.

Russo was on this livestream promoting his Downtown Los Angeles bar, Duello. He revealed the current runtime:

“The running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours. We’ll see if that holds.”

Russo also answered a question about the current editing process, which hints that the film will likely be cut down from its current 3 hour runtime.

“We’re about halfway through the editing process. We’re really just scratching the surface on our VFX shots. There are more than 3,000 VFX shots in the movie; those require a lot of time and thought and energy and effort, and we’re very early in the phase of getting VFX done. We’ve just started work with Alan Silvestri on the score, and we’re still editing picture at this point.”

Even if Avengers 4 gets cut down from its current 3 hour runtime, it is still expected to be the longest MCU film today. However, if the film were to keep its 3 hour runtime, how would you feel?
