While Josh Brolin might have most recently delivered a captivating performance as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, a new behind-the-scenes image shows off the original actor behind Thanos wearing a practical costume, rather than a motion-capture suit. Fans will remember that Marvel have been teasing Thanos and the Infinity Saga all the way since Avengers Assemble, so it’s fascinating to see what their original idea was.
Damion Poitier was originally the actor playing Thanos in the post-credits scene of Avengers Assemble, who stood up and turned towards the audience. Although it’s easy to criticize the practical costume in the shadow of Josh Brolin’s incredible CGI Thanos in Avengers: Endgame – for the time, it’s still quite impressive. Ironhead Studio, the company that worked with Marvel to create the Thanos costume, revealed the original costume on Instagram, take a look below.
Would you rather have seen the practical Thanos costume being used in the Avengers films or are you perfectly happy with the Josh Brolin’s Thanos? Let us know in the comments.
