‘Avengers’ Star Chris Evans Rumored To Direct Disney+ Episodes For Marvel

Avengers star Chris Evans could be making the jump behind the camera for Marvel Studios as a new rumor suggests the actor will turn director after his final appearance as Captain America.

While Chris Evans is set to make his final appearance as Captain America in the upcoming Avengers film, Avengers: Endgame, a new rumor points to Chris Evans moving behind the lens for Marvel. According to Jim Hill, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige supposedly offered Chris Evans the chance to direct episodes of Marvel’s content for Disney’s direct to consumer service which is set to launch later this year.

While it’s not clear which series Chris Evans could direct, the actor himself is no stranger to directing as he previously made his directorial debut with his film Before We Go in 2014 for which he also starred in.

Marvel first announced the development of live-action series for Disney+, Disney’s direct to consumer service in the fall of 2017 along with the announcement of a Star Wars live-action series. Currently, the studio is in development on several shows including Vision and the Scarlet Witch featuring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, a Loki series which will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as the villainous Prince of Asgard, and a team-up series featuring Falcon and the Winter Soldier which Malcolm Spellman (Empire) is developing for the streaming service and will presumably star Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie.

The next Avengers film is set to debut this April. Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
