‘Avengers 4’ Director Wants Noah Hawley’s Take On Doctor Doom

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo have been integral to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s success over the last few years. As the architects of Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, the Russo’s are definitely a major creative force with much critical acclaim.

After the release of the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame, fans are digging for any evidence they can to figure out what the future of the MCU will look like after 2019. One thing is for sure, characters from the Disney-Fox deal will certainly be a big part of the MCU’s future. When it comes to Marvel villains, none can compare to Dr. Doom.

Avengers director Joe Russo has an idea on what to do with Doom. In a recent interview, Joe said that he specifically wants to see Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley’s take on the legendary Fantastic Four villain in the MCU:

“I’d love to see Noah’s interpretation of that character. Anything that Noah does.”

Hawley has been developing a solo Doctor Doom film at Fox, but details surrounding Disney’s $71.3 billion acquisition of Fox assets have clouded the future of the property. According to Joe, the Russos have discussed Hawley’s Doctor Doom movie “in passing,” but acknowledges the uncertainty of the merger:

“Who knows what’s going to happen with everything with the Disney acquisition.”

Once it closes, Disney will own Fox’s Marvel rights, including the X-Men, Deadpool, Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom. MCU head, Kevin Feige has already expressed his excitement to get his hands on the slate of classic Marvel characters. But, only time will tell what the future holds for MCU in the post-Avengers 4 phases.
