Endgame is the fourth Marvel Studios movie directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. In addition to directing, Joe Russo had small, on-screen roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and its follow-up, Civil War. His eldest daughter Sophia also made an appearance in Civil War, but now it’s her sister’s turn to get the spotlight in a Marvel movie.
Though Joe Russo wouldn’t reveal who his daughter is playing in Avengers: Endgame, fans may have spotted her characer in the film’s latest trailer alongside Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. It’s a brief moment, but one that fans have been talking about since the trailer’s release.
The person standing next to Renner here appears to be Ava Russo, playing Lila Barton, the daughter of fan-favorite Avenger Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye. Theories have placed the Burton family on the wrong side of the “snap,” with many fans speculating that their disappearance is what leads Hawkeye to become Ronin.
This moment presumably takes place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, as the rest of Hawkye’s family can be seen in the distance in another shot featured in the trailer. Jeremy Renner was absent from Avengers: Infinity War, but as the Endgame trailers have already confirmed, Hawkeye will return to try and undo the damage caused by Thanos.
