According to Deadline, China authorities have not only approved Avengers: Endgame to show in their country, but they have given the film an April 24th release date. This means, unlike Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame will be rolling out in China in step with the Middle Kingdom and two days before the North American release.
What does this mean? It means that Marvel Studios’ twenty-second film is in line to get an even bigger boost at the global box office than was originally projected. If Avengers: Endgame performs in line with what Infinity War did plus the added bonus of such a wide release, Disney could be looking at a staggering $840+ million inauguration.
Of course, this is all still conjecture. The closer we get to the Endgame‘s premiere, the more accurate the representation the numbers will give us.
Plot details still remain under wraps, though the Avengers are expected to team up with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and possibly utilize the Quantum Realm or even time travel in their efforts to undo the decimation from Thanos’ snap and bring back half of the universe’s population which was turned to dust by the Mad Titan at the end of Infinity War.
Here’s the synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
