After Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced plans to release Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2, the name of the first project was changed to just Avengers: Infinity War while the sequel remained untitled for some time. As a result, fans spent a significant amount of time speculating on what the title of the fourth Avengers film would be before the official trailer confirmed it was Endgame. However, the Russo Brothers revealed one of the more popular fan choices for the title was once considered:
“It was Infinity Gauntlet for a long time.”
As for whether or not they ever considered splitting Endgame into two films, the Russo Brothers explained they only ever joked about such a possibility:
“We used to joke about [splitting the movies in two] all the time. Because Alan Horn at Disney had overseen Lord of the Ringsand he used to joke about it. Like, three hour movie, just cut it in half. I don’t know that it would have achieved this kind of success had we split it up.
