‘Avengers: Endgame’ Directors On Joining The DCEU: ‘Never Say Never’

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo future in the cinematic superhero landscape beyond Avengers: Endgame remains uncertain, however, while they don’t have any hard plans to return to the Marvel universe, the two aren’t ruling out directing a movie in the DCEU down the line.

Speaking with MTV News, the directing duo were asked about what it would take to bring them back into the fold for another Marvel movie. After Joe gushed over his dream project, Marvel’s The Secret Wars, The Russo Brothers were asked point-blank whether or not they saw themselves ever directing a movie in the DC universe. While the very idea was something Joe could barely wrap his head around at this point in time, the director didn’t rule out the chance at adapting a DC property in the future:

“Our brains are so fogged at this point that I don’t know we can consider anything. But, you know, you never say ‘never.'”

What DC film would you like to see The Russo Brothers tackle were they to jump ship over to Warner Bros.? Would you like to see them helm a team-up film in the DCEU? Or focus on an individual character for a standalone film? Let us know in the comments below!

Avengers: Endgame will serve as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before it before Marvel kicks off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.

Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
