As you may probably know, up until now, the end of Avengers: Endgame saw Chris Evans’ Captain America return the borrowed Infinity Stones from where the team of Avengers got them in the first place. Almost every Infinity Stone can just be returned to someone or simply placed back where it was borrowed from. The only one that might pose a problem to return is the Soul Stone. It doesn’t seem like anyone can go back to Vormir and just ask for the traded soul in return again. So the interaction between Captain America and Red Skull should have happened off-screen in which they discuss how he can return the Soul Stone.
Joe and Anthony Russo both talked to Cinemablend about this hypothetical yet strongly possible moment. Joe Russo stated that they would have to meet at some point in time and its anyone’s guess how Captain America returned the Soul Stone:
“He would have to encounter Red Skull. And nobody knows what the rules are when you return the Soul Stone.”
Anthony Russo talked about how he thought that Red Skull may not have wanted the Soul Stone back:
“Nobody knows. But knowing Red Skull, he probably has a no-money-back policy.”
How do you think that conversation between Captain America and Red Skull went? What do you think Captain America did with the Soul Stone in the end? Sound off in the comment section down below!
Avengers: Endgame concludes what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dubbed as ‘The Infinity Saga’ or what we’ve seen as Thanos’ secret quest for the powerful Infinity Stones. This Saga heavily featured characters like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America and Avengers: Endgame wraps up the stories which started with Iron Man way back in 2008.
Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
