‘Avengers: Endgame’ Writers Confirm Whether Or Not That Popular Skrull Theory Is True

The writers of Avengers: Endgame have just confirmed whether or not one of the biggest fan theories regarding a potential villain for Phase 4 of the MCU is true.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely addressed some of the biggest fan theories regarding the outcome of the film. One of those theories involves the sighting of who it seems to be Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos from Captain Marvel. According to several fans, the Skrull can be seen in the scene where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker returns to school and meets with Jacob Batalon’s Ned.

Unfortunately for the fans who claimed to have spotted Talos, Markus and McFeely went ahead and debunked this theory confirming he was Ben Mendelsohn was not on set. They admitted they weren’t aware of Mendelsohn being in the film at all and that it was just an actor who looks happens to look like Ben Mendelsohn:

“There are things people have told me about these movies, which we have worked on for nearly five years, that I’ve never seen, so I should probably watch it again.”

After watching Captain Marvel and the nature of the Skrulls in the MCU, many people were disappointed to see that they weren’t the true villains in the Brie Larson film. Many fans were expecting the Avengers to tackle the Skrulls in a Secret Wars saga, but that isn’t happening any time soon, at least with the current state of affairs with the shapeshifters.

Would you like to see the Skrulls become the main villains of the MCU now that Thanos is gone? Sound off in the comment section down below!

Avengers: Endgame concludes what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dubbed as ‘The Infinity Saga’ or what we’ve seen as Thanos’ secret quest for the powerful Infinity Stones. This Saga heavily featured characters like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America and Avengers: Endgame wraps up the stories which started with Iron Man way back in 2008.

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing everywhere.
