‘Avengers: Endgame’ Decimates Records With $1.2 Billion Global Opening

Avengers: Endgame shattered box office records this weekend with a $1.2 billion global debut.

Yesterday, we reported that Avengers: Endgame had an amazing first Friday after the film’s debut everywhere on Wednesday. On Friday, Avengers: Endgame grossed an eye-opening $156.7 million at the North American box office for a worldwid total of $634.7 million. Now, Endgame has shattered all box office records with its global opening weekend.

News came in today that the worldwide total of Avengers: Endgame now stands at $1.2 billion after just four days. You read that right. The film amassed $350 million at the North American box office and $859 million overseas, bringing its global haul to $1.2 billion. Today’s numbers will probably be available sometime tomorrow and it seems that these figures are only poised to increase dramatically.

As a comparison, last year’s Avengers: Infinity War took 11 days to hit the $1 billion mark and now Avengers: Endgame did that in just 4 days.

Avengers: Endgame concludes what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dubbed as ‘The Infinity Saga’ or what we’ve seen as Thanos’ secret quest for the powerful Infinity Stones. This Saga heavily featured characters like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America and Avengers: Endgame wraps the stories which started with Iron Man way back in 2008.

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing everywhere.
