During an interview with Fandango, Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely commented on the possibility of seeing a new Iron Man in the future.
The climactic battle between the Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes and Thanos concluded with Iron Man using the Infinity Stones to erase the Mad Titan and his forces from existence. However, the surge of energy was too powerful for Iron Man to handle and the hero who kicked off the MCU died on the battlefield surrounded by loved ones. Now, fans are curious to see if anyone else will take on the Iron Man mantle and writer Christopher Markus noted there are still characters with suits who survived Endgame:
“Ooh, well there certainly are a bunch of people with suits who are alive.”
However, Stephen McFeely revealed the duo are unaware of any plans Marvel Studios has for Iron Man in the future:
“But we don’t know what they’ve got planned.”
As for the possibility of seeing a younger character become the new Iron Man, Markus simply said, “Yeah, there are no Iron Teen scripts as far as I know.”
