Avengers: Endgame is less than a month away and the film’s final edit has been locked for a little while now. Anthony and Joe Russo have previously stated the film had a three-hour runtime when they were editing the film. Fandango recently posted a three hour and two minutes run time, but the film will be close to exactly three hours. In an interview with ComicBook.com, co-director Joe Russo revealed the official runtime:
“I think it’s three hours and fifty eight seconds. We just sped up the credits is what we did.”
The three-hour runtime not only makes it the longest MCU film, but among the longest comic book films of all-time. Avengers: Infinity War was previously the longest MCU film at two hours and forty minutes. Joe Russo’s Avengers: Endgame joins Watchmen, Superman, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as superhero films that have cracked the three-hour mark. Are you excited about the three-hour runtime? Comment below!
“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
