In an interview with ComicBook.com, Avengers: Endgame and Marvel producer Trinh Tran discussed the historic 2017 film shoot and how it was the most ambitious thing that the studio had ever done:
So, it was a whole year of shooting, and Marvel’s never done anything like this, so this was the two biggest movies that Marvel’s ever done, and we decided that we were just gonna take a full swing and just keep shooting.
Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame were originally supposed to be a two-part film, but ended up being different enough from another to have Avengers: Endgame stand on its own. The film’s combined budgets were rumored to be around the $1 Billion mark, making it one of the most expensive film shoots of all time. But expensive doesn’t necessarily mean easy. Tran discussed the long hard hours put into the films and how the process was difficult on everyone involved:
“Look, it was one of the best experiences I think all of us ever encountered, but it was a very grueling process, because it was very physically demanding, emotionally, mentally, to just be able to do that whole, entire year. I mean, usually these shoots are only few months. But to be able to just keep going, 12 hours, or how many ever hours that we were doing each day, just to get both these movies in, it was pretty crazy.”
From the look of things, the production of Marvel Studio’s latest film was a heck of a challenge for everyone involved! Hopefully, the end film will be worth it!
Here is a plot synopsis for Marvel Studio’s next film, Avengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
