Avengers: Endgame, which is already the second highest-grossing film of all time as well as the fastest film to cross the $2 billion milestone in history, managed a total of $63.1 million in its third weekend at the domestic box office, bringing its domestic total to $723.5 million. The fourth Avengers film has become the third highest grossing film at the domestic box office, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.6M) and Avatar ($760.5M). The film has already earned over $2.4 billion worldwide. Whether or not it will pass Avatar ($2.78B) to become the highest-grossing film of all time still remains in question.
Pokemon Detective Pikachu debuted to $58 million in its opening weekend at the domestic box office. The film has received mostly positive reviews, currently sitting at a fresh 63% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, while also receiving an A- CinemaScore. The film follows Tim Goodman (Justice Smith) when his father is mysteriously killed, leading to a team-up with Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) in order to discover the truth behind his father’s supposed death. Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) is directed the Pokemon film from a script written by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of The Galaxy) and Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls).
Avengers: Endgame serves as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before Marvel officially ends Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.
