Here’s The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Reunion That Has Fans Excited

A recent Reddit post reminded fans that Avengers: Endgame may also feature a long-awaited meeting: the Tony Stark/James “Rhodey” Rhodes reunion.

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans often remember the friendship between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark since Captain America: Civil War made a huge deal about their relationship and how it affected the other heroes in the films. That break-up impacted almost entirely how the heroes tackled Thanos’ threat in Avengers: Infinity War and ultimately how it led to their defeat against the Mad Titan for being scattered and disassembled.

Even though this is the main story Marvel Studios is trying to show us, there’s been a huge oversight of which is the original and oldest friendship in the cinematic saga. We’re not talking about Tony and Bruce Banner, or Rocket and Groot, or even Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. We’re talking about Tony and Rhodey, of course. And Reddit agrees with us with this post reflecting on the excitement of this reunion happening in Endgame:

Although not in a strictly MCU historical and linear sense, Tony and Rhodey were the first tight friendship we knew. Granted, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes go way back but Iron Man came first in 2008 so its the first one we fans actually dove into first. After seeing them together in Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and, already disassembled, in Avengers: Infinity War, we’re sure this relationship weighs a lot more for Tony Stark than the one with Captain America, for sure. Even fans recognize that when they miss seeing them on-screen battling bad guys and making lame jokes to each other. Endgame will give us, perhaps, the last chance to see that chemistry once again.
