‘Avengers: Endgame’ Directors Weigh In On Samuel L. Jackson Paradox

The Marvel Cinematic Universe contains a few bizarre paradoxes when it comes to Star Wars and the directors of Avengers: Endgame have finally addressed them when it comes to Samuel L. Jackson.

As we all know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars franchises share a number of actors. This most notably includes Samuel L. Jackson and who appeared in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. In the trilogy, Samuel L. Jackson portrayed Mace Windu, one of the most powerful members of the Jedi Order. In  Captain America: Civil War it was established that the Star Wars franchise does exist when Spider-Man, (Tom Holland) suggested that they use a tactic from Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back to take down a giant-sized Ant-Man, (Paul Rudd).

This has left some fans questioning how these films can exist in this world when Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury. Avengers: Endgame co-director Anthony Russo recently addressed the apparent paradox with a very simple answer:

“They just look like those characters.”

Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo reinforced this by saying that Nick Fury is just a dead ringer for Samuel L. Jackson:

“Yes, Nick Fury just happens to look like [Samuel L. Jackson].”
