With the minimal information we’ve received about the film, Avengers: Endgame trailers and marketing have shown us much of the team in these mysterious new white suits with no explanation on their function. Fans have speculated for months on what the suits could be for, from time travel to entering the Quantum Realm, but Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has gone on the record about what the suits really are.
Kevin Feige finally gave some insight on the team’s pearly new duds:
“We call them the team suits. And we early on decided [revealing them] was a big differentiating factor between [Endgame] and the other films. The Avengers have never had matching outfits before, [so] we thought it was a very intriguing image to see something that made this film feel new.”
While this answer isn’t what most fans hoped for, at least it does give us some answers on Avengers: Endgame. In fact, the level of secrecy around the upcoming film has caused problems for Disney and Marvel Studios marketing teams. On top of that, the marketing for Avengers: Endgame had to really set it apart from last year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
“[We had to] make it feel more than just Infinity War II. Because it’s not. Those team suits add something fresh to it. As does Hawkeye, as does Captain Marvel. As does Scott Lang.”
Could Kevin Feige be giving us a misdirection on the true purpose of the team suits? Can the team really take down Thanos by replacing the fallen heroes with the likes of Ant-Man, Ronin and Captain Marvel? Lets us know in the comments below!
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
