Theory Suggests ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Will Focus On A Bigger Threat

Could Avengers: Endgame feature a threat for the Avengers that is even greater than Thanos himself? According to one fan theory, that might just be the case.

Last year packaging for some Avengers: Endgame action figures revealed that Thor and Rocket will be teaming up with a new crew to fight even bigger threats. Reddit user JoshandMarie extrapolates on this reveal to form a new fan theory that may suggest exactly who or what that bigger threat is.

First and foremost, JoshandMarie points out that the new Avengers movie is three hours long and suggests that would be a long time for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to spend trying to undo Thanos’s snap from Avengers: Infinity War alone. The theory suggests that an alternative route the story could take would be to introduce the Living Tribunal, who, upon learning of The Decimation, tracks down Thanos and forces him to undo his snap because it defies the natural laws of the universe. The theory continues to postulate that the larger threat could be the Made Titan himself, only an even angrier version who now wants to eviscerate Earth after he was forced to go back on the actions he spent so much time planning and executing.

Another possibility is that the bigger threat is Dormammu, who is now seeking to consume Earth following the death of Doctor Strange, with whom Dormammu made the deal he would leave be the third rock from the sun. But JoshandMarie does not stop there. Perhaps the bigger threat is not a being but an event akin to the Annihilation: Conquest event from War of Kings where the Avengers need to repair a rip in space and time caused by the snap before everyone is sucked into an alternate dimension.
