‘Avengers: Endgame’ Theory Sends Tony On A Journey Similar To Thanos’

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is on the hunt for Infinity Stones in this Avengers: Endgame theory, much like Thanos (Josh Brolin) previously was.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters at the end of April but the first trailer has given fans a lot to think about since its release. One aspect of the trailer that fans really seemed to latch onto was Tony Stark’s desperate situation. The trailer finds Tony on the Milano after battling with Thanos on Titan, sending out a final message to his beloved Pepper Potts (Gwenyth Paltrow). The trailer also revealed that Nebula (Karen Gillan) is on the Milano with Tony and this new fan theory suggests that Tony’s journey could be very similar to the journey that Nebula’s father Thanos embarked on during Avengers: Infinity War. 

The theory comes from a post on Reddit by username Asongofparksandrec. In the post, the fan makes a case for why it makes complete sense that Tony would end up searching for the very thing that put him in this depressing situation. Check out the post below to see the intriguing theory.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently stated that Avengers: Endgame is bringing a decade of Marvel storytelling to a close, so it makes sense that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s inaugural hero Iron Man could save the day in such a heroic way. Redemption has been a very common theme for Tony since the first Iron Man and although there are many ways to go about paying off that theme, the theory stated above is a very fitting way to approach it.
