Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland became notorious in recent years for accidentally revealing spoilers to the people around him regarding his many Marvel projects, including Avengers: Infinity War. This year, Tom Holland’s wall-crawling hero is expected to return in Avengers: Endgame and this slip-up by the actor during an interview alongside Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch only furthers that theory.
Tom Holland hasn’t been officially revealed to be returning in Avengers: Endgame, but the hero’s return has been spoiled by the very announcement, and proceeding trailers for Sony’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, which has also revealed the return of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Last April, during an interview with Access alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland might have let something slip that many fans assumed to be in regards to Avengers: Infinity War, but may actually tie into this year’s sequel, Endgame.
“He has the most difficult lines, though. He has to talk about so much Quantum Realm…stuff.”
Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, is who Holland is referring to. The mystical Marvel hero also died during the climax of Infinity War last summer. What makes the quote so interesting is that the Quantum Realm ultimately never came into play during that film, so it seems that the actor might have accidentally confirmed Doctor Strange’s return in Avengers: Endgame.
Fans will have to wait for the movie to finally hit theaters to truly see which Marvel Cinematic Heroes will return but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the film as soon as more information becomes available. How exactly do you think Benedict Cumberbatch’s mystical hero will fit into the secretive story of Avengers: Endgame? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.
