‘Avengers: Endgame’ Crosses $2 Billion Worldwide In Record Time; Passes ‘Titanic’

Avengers: Endgame has officially passed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office in its second weekend.

After its stunning opening of $1.2 billion, the fourth Avengers film continued to crush this weekend, bringing its domestic total past the $600 million milestone to a total of $620 million. While its earned another $1.56 billion internationally.

This makes the Marvel epic the fastest film to cross the $2 billion milestone. Not only that but Avengers: Endgame will actually become the second highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office today, besting the box office takes of Jurassic World ($1.67B) and its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War ($2.04B), as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.06B) and even Titanic ($2.18B). Whether or not the film will eventually pass Avatar ($2.78B) to become the highest-grossing film of all time still remains in question.

Avengers: Endgame serves as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before Marvel officially ends Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.

Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
