‘Avengers: Endgame’ Star Ty Simpkins Is Down To Play Iron Lad

During an interview with IGN, Ty Simpkins discussed his willingness to play Iron Lad after Tony Stark’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame concluded with nearly every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe uniting against Thanos and his forces in a fight to protect Earth. While our heroes ultimately vanquished Thanos and his army, their victory came at the cost of Tony Stark’s life after the billionaire genius used to Infinity Stones to eradicate the invaders.

Among those who attended the fallen hero’s funeral was Ty Simpkins’ Harley Keener, the young boy who assisted Tony Stark in the third Iron Man film. Since then, fans have suggested Ty Simpkins’ Harley Keener as a potential successor to Iron Man and when asked about potentially becoming Iron Lad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the young actor replied:

“Yes, 100%. I would love that!”

In the comics, Iron Lad is the adolescent version of Kang the Conqueror, a future foe of the Fantastic Four. However, Ty Simpkins noted he would still be willing to play a villain in order to take on the Iron Lad mantle:

“I’d do it, I’d do it. Without a doubt.”

Would you like to see Ty Simpkins play Iron Lad in a future Marvel Studios film? Or should Iron Lad retain his classic comic book origins if ever featured in an MCU film?

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now playing in theaters!
