During a recent interview with Back Story Magazine via Comicbookmovie.com, Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely talked a bit about Adam Warlock. Apparently, they never considered using the character. According to the writers, introducing Adam Warlock would have taken the spotlight away from other Avengers: Endgame characters and they didn’t want that:
“The logic right here was to honor the MCU as how it had already existed and the characters you’d already fallen in love with. We did not want to give too much story space to introducing a whole new person. It would rob you from somebody.”
While he didn’t appear in the film, Adam Warlock was mentioned in an after-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It has been assumed that the character will appear in in the third film. But from the look of things, the writers didn’t want Adam Warlock to steal anyone’s thunder!
What do you all make of this? Are you glad that Adam Warlock didn’t appear in Avengers: Endgame? Would he have made a welcome addition to the cast? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
