With Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s assets complete, fans are looking forward to what Marvel Studios’ has planned for the X-Men now that they under the House of Mouse umbrella. While some are hoping the current iteration of the X-Men will be incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most are expecting the franchise to be rebooted after Dark Phoenix and Christopher Markus suggested this will be the case when asked if they could have featured some of the mutants in Avengers: Endgame:
“I guess it’s done now but it wasn’t done then. They still have an “X-Men” movie [“Dark Phoenix,” due in June]. You can’t reboot them before they’re done. ‘Sorry to completely screw you.'”
The next X-Men film is scheduled to be released June 7, 2019, while Avengers: Endgame is currently breaking records in theaters across the world.
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
