‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Directors Shut Down Popular Loki Fan Theory

The directors of Avengers: Infinity War have laid one of the many Loki (Tom Hiddleston) fan theories to rest.

Avengers: Infinity War was a movie that was filled with many deaths of fan-favorite characters. Since fans are expecting characters like Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) to return, some have theorized how Loki could make his return as well. One of these theories involved Loki secretly disguising himself as Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).

As part of the Collider Screening Series, the site held an Avengers: Infinity War screening followed by a Q&A with the film’s directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. Some very interesting bits of information were discussed after the screening, such as the directing duo’s reaction to the Loki fan theory mentioned above. Unfortunately for Loki fans, the Russo Bros. said that he is, in fact, dead.

There have been many, many theories as to how Loki could make his return. The announcement of the Loki series on the Disney+ streaming service had fans even more convinced that the beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe villain was somehow able to escape death in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, the Russo Bros. have officially laid those rumors to rest.
