‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Fan Theory Fixes Common Thanos Criticism

If this Avengers: Infinity War fan theory is correct, then Thanos (Josh Brolin) may have had an even darker motivation than previously thought.

One of the aspects of Avengers: Infinity War that was most praised by fans was its villain, Thanos. The Mad Titan had a very frightening plan, to kill half of all life in the universe, yet audiences were still able to understand him and where he was coming from. That being said, there was a very common complaint regarding Thanos after the film opened in theaters this Summer.

Upon the release of Avengers: Infinity War, many fans wondered why Thanos would use all of his incredible power to kill half of the universe instead of just fixing broken planets, whether it be by building new homes or creating more food, crops, whatever that particular planet needed. A fan theory brought up on Reddit by user thomascgalvin attempts to explain why Thanos is enacting his plan in this particular way. Check out the fan theory in the post below.

What makes this theory so intriguing is that if you reflect on Thanos’ scenes in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s easy to stamp that new motivation on his actions and not only does the story still work, it becomes even more sinister than before. As if the movie wasn’t dark enough, now there’s a whole new way to watch it in which even the sympathetic villain becomes less likable.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers: Infinity War and its upcoming sequel Avengers: Endgame as soon as more information becomes available. What do you think about the fan theory? Is it plausible or too far-fetched for your taste? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
